Wow Tuberville to Cincy

  • Did anyone see this coming? Big downgrade for him to go to Cincy who doesn't have a real conference, especially after a solid year this year. He must not have been very happy down there.

What shocks me most here may be that this is less than 24 hours after Butch Jones left. I know they expected Jones to leave but wow, no formal interview process or time to seriously consider candidates. I know it's not the NFL but I wonder if there are any rules about having to consider a minority candidate in college.

Some would say being UT's indentured servant doesn't really qualify as having a real conference either.

I guess the B12 will have to start making their coaches sign GORs.

  • Tuberville is close with the CInci AD and apparently had difference with the admin at Tech. The B12 isnt the most stable conference in the country either and tech is fourth fiddle to Texas, AM and TCU in the State.

I didnt see this coming and thought it was a shocker at first but after reading some of the articles on Tuberville, it makes sense.

  • wonder if cinci and tuberville knows something we don't know, i.e. that Cinci may have plans in the works to join another conference

  • What are the donations like at UL and Cincy that they can make coaching moved like they have done in the past week?

Cinci has plans to join a new conference as soon as an invite is available. And therein lies the problem.

  • Hearing rumblings that D.Holgorsen on TexasTech's short list and they are willing to pay up to get him.

I'd think WVU could pay just as much as Texas Tech...though Tech has a better recruiting base

Not so fast. There is that minor matter of the ginormous exit fee they promised to pay to the BigEast, half of which they borrowed from the Big12.

  • Cant help but think of those 2 Pittsburgh area kids who we wanted so badly a few years ago and committed to Texas Tech. If I recall, they bombed out. Names anyone? I cant recall. Where did they end up?

Delvon Simmons is still down there as far as I know. I know he was on some freshman all american teams last year. He can be as good as he wants to be.

Green ended up at Cal of PA.

I'm thinking tuberville might have been feeling a little heat after he slapped a headset off the head of one of his assistants late this season

I think a kid named Jackson went there as well. When will these kids learn. There's no place like home. (PITT)

That's right Brendin Jackson 6' 4" 250 linebacker. Simmons and Jackson come back home guys, you play at a cesspool school.
