Texas. How have you been? You know, you are the first and only psu student or fan I have ever liked. I wish you well but the upcoming ride is going to be rocky for psu.
Where will you settle down in life. Back to the south-central part of the country? What and how do you describe your experience in state college and Pa, in general to your folks back home? I'm serious, this kind of human interest stuff is a great interest to me. Catch you later my friend.

TL,
I know you guys aren't used to this...but "buyouts" in coaches contracts are as enforceable as the contracts that are signed. Meaning....they aren't. They are also as enforceable or at least negotiable as conference exit fees.

Hey pappy, I've been good. I've gotten slapped around a bit in terms of workload with my classes this semester, but I'm making my grades finally.
Campus life has been interesting, to say the least. At first I was bummed, because I knew Joe did a lot of good things for the school and it's students (my roommate last year was on scholarship from the Paterno Scholars or whatever it was called, and he wouldn't have been able to afford PSU otherwise). However after some talks with family I realized it served as a great lesson for me, that no human should be put on such a pedestal or given as much power and pressure as Joe had. That kind of power only breeds tyranny or an abuse of that power. Plus, I was able to witness the changing of the guard at PSU, something not many people will be able to say. I still keep in touch with my best friends from high school, and they all go to Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Texas, etc. They all seem to tell the same stories about the same parties and they go to the same places we heard our older brothers tell stories about when we were growing up. It's nice to be experiencing something different, and I knew if I didn't go to PSU I would always wonder what if. It was probably the best decision I've ever made in my life.
After school I'm hoping to get into law school somewhere, or possibly work for a year or two to make my resume a little prettier and then apply. Hopefully I can find a job in Texas or Atlanta, but if not I'm OK with staying in PA. The long term plan is go back to Texas, but life has a funny way of guiding you down different paths than you would think, so who knows?

It's no wonder Texas that you have such a steady head about you. One's life starts and ends at home and the people who touch your life and guides you in the early years.
Count yourself lucky for the family that you have. I'm sure they do as well. Also, count yourself as smart for the venture you have taken into central Pa. What a wake up call I'm sure. They say variety is the spice of life.
Well good luck to you my young friend. You're a slam dunk to succeed in life. I would like to keep in touch down the road. I'll get in touch with you soon.

Tex
Based on your posts here I'm sure your family is very proud of you. You seem to have a really good head on your shoulders and that will take you a long way
Have to ask. You're views seem to be diametrically oppose to the cult following at Psu. Do you get a lot of grief from your fellow class mates?
