Shane Hale.

  • I was ready to put this guy under the heading of complete bust. He won the EC award for most improved defensive player in spring ball.. He looked quick in the scrimmage and even covered running backs on pass plays. Discuss.

  • Didn't Craig Bokor win this award a few times?

  • I "think" that for some players, the light doesn't go on for some reason until their final year. I either read or heard on an interview with him that up until not too long ago he considered himself a linebacker, and really did not put effort into being a DE. I believe that he may have seen the light, that if he is going to make any impact it will have to be at DE. I hope it carries over to the regular season and is not just a "practice" thing. Never hurts to have depth on the d-line!

  • I should have known the 1980 winner of the award but I had no clue. Thanks for posting the past winners. It is pretty interesting to see who improves in the spring/if they make a difference during the season.

Huh, I hadn't noticed that. Say a belated congrats to him, he's one of the winners who actually capitalized on it.

  • I remember we wanted Hale at one point. How is he?

    AlphaBuckeye06

  • Who's that?

I couldn't figure out the timing of this thread until I looked at the time line. Where has bbc4 been anyway. He's been as invisible as Hale.

well he hasnt played in 5 years so why wouldnt you call him a bust?
he doesnt play at a position that really lacks talent.

  • 3-4 years ago actually. when a player has true freshmen pass him on the depth chart when he has been in the program for a few years thats usually a clear sign, no matter how badly some do not want to see it.

    go panthers!
