OT: article on Cincinnati's attempt to land in the ACC

  • Interesting that it seems that preference #1 was the ACC with the fallback being the B12.

  • I think it makes more sense for them to be in the ACC, cuts down travel cuts a lot; also if they subscribe to the theory of 4 16 team super conferences....well Pac 12 is going to need 4 more teams and have a small pool to pick from, namely Big 12 teams

  • Obviously since the Pac 12 needs four more teams then obviously it'll obviously be Texas and obviously Oklahoma and a couple others .. obviously. It's a lock. They obviously get to pick whoever they like and obviously Texas has a great deal of interest in joining and obviously it doesn't matter anyway because obviously the Pac 12 is so powerful and can obviously force Texas to join because of playoffs and TV and obvious stuff.

Im not saying it will happen, but if the Pac 12 were to expand...I'd be willing to venture a guess that Texas and OU would be two of the 4 teams added...that Pac 12 may stay at 12, but they may not

  • I think the Big Ten and SEC and Texas will have a say in it. I believe Texas prefers to stay where they are. I also like the Big Ten's chances. I'm sick of people talking about the Pac 12 like they HAVE to add Texas or they're screwed .. and like there's no possibility of the Pac 12 being screwed. Good god people .. common sense. Anything is possible. Ever heard of wishful thinking?

  • The main thing about the Pac and UT is that, very recently, the Pac tried very hard to add them and OU. And it would have happened except for the LHN.

Whether they have to add teams or not, the Pac's desire for UT is well demonstrated. And outside of the LHN, UT seemed to reciprocate that interest.

The LHN is also an abject failure thus far.

Thus, it's not that big of a leap to envision UT in the Pac at some point.

You are such a flip-flopper. A week ago you said the ACC was going to be poached.

In reality, if you read your posts carefully, you have 3 super-conferences - PAC16, B1G (16), SEC16...whoever makes it in for the last 2 B1G spots and last 2 SEC spots is really the question in your mind.

You have both the ACC and the B12 imploding. So if these 3 giants gobble everything up, Pitt of course will be left on the sidelines in the CUSA which is what you truly want and expect.
