Matt Bodamer

  • Who the hell is this guy? How did he get the Gatorade PA Player of the year award over Tyler Boyd.....are these guys on crack?

Here are some stats....but how good is district 9 and do they have a shot? It might be worth a drive up to Deer Lakes to see this game.

Bodamer has thrown for 3,522 yards this season alone. That's a career for most WPIAL quarterbacks. He is 194 of 267 and is 301 yards shy of the state single-season record. Also, his 49 touchdown passes are only three short of another state record.

  • He has put up huge numbers throughout his career. But as was Jason White......you know how this story ends.

  • Here is video they are the team in white. It almost feels like the whole game is in slow motion. I think this one will ugly, it will hurt Clairton defensively a little bit not having Titus but too much speed for Port Allegany

    Port Allegany Gators - 10/13/2012

It is not normally my policy to post highlight videos while the team is still playing, but because of the extraordinary circumstances of this game, I am making an exception. During the Port Allegany vs Sheffield game of 10/13/2012, quarterback Matt Bodamer broke the state record for the most career TD passes in PA High School Football history, finishing the day with 4, bringing his career total to 120 (with 2 games yet to play in the regular season), and became the third player in PIAA history to throw for over 9,000 career yards. Also during this game, receiver Tyce Miller broke the record for career TD receptions in PIAA District 9. Coincidentally and fittingly, both records fell on the same play, a ten yard hookup early in the second quarter. Also, I failed to note in this video that Tyce broke the District 9 record for career yardage receiving as well during this game. I apologize for the oversight. Congratulations to the entire Gator team. Your hard work and dedication is an inspiration and source of pride for your community. Best of luck on the rest of your season.

  • I've heard that Boyd has a bit of Antonio Bryant in him. What I mean is that he will be frothing at the mouth at the thought that this kid is going to be getting the "best player in the state" treatment going into this game. Like Bryant, if he decides that he's not getting enough respect, he gets a little nuts. I agree with Bob, this could be something to DVR and watch after the kids go to bed.

Very much so. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays the best game of his career this weekend.
