Larry: Get Out Of Arizona

  • Yesterday I watched the 58-0 rout of the Arizona Cardinals by the Seahawks. While watching, I said to myself, this is the worst NFL team showing I've seen in decades. While I realized the Cardinals had fallen off from their early season hot start, I hadn't realized how far they'd fallen.
This was the worst Cardinal loss in their history and their present nine game losing streak tied a Cardinal record. For you young guys, The Cardinals were the Chicago Cardinals before moving to St. Louis and then Arizona. The streak tied the record set in 1943 by the Chicago Cardinals. The Cards QBs, Skelton and Lindley, his replacement, couldn't play for Chatham.

What hurt me though, was a remark made by an announcer in another game. He listed the top 5 wideouts in the game today, starting with Calvin Johnson(Megatron), followed by Brandon Marshall and three others- NO FITZ. In the last four games Larry has caught a total of six passes.
Imagine where he'd be if he had Drew, Peyton, Eli, Ryan, Schaub, Big Ben. even Andy Dalton,Koepernick,Smith, Bradford and many others, throwing to him.

We all know how great he is and was but his legacy is being buried. There's no doubt that had he been playing with merely a good QB,the sports debate would be Fitz vs. Rice.

Larry , get the heck out of Phoenix. Make the heroic gesture of saying you're willing to be traded for draft choices to help the team while your agent puts the gun to the head of management. Bill Clinton devoted his political life in search of a "legacy". Larry, your fans pray you add to yours.

  • He doesn't want to leave Arizona. I think he recently signed a new deal a couple years ago.

  • The sad thing is he got his degree via Univ of Phoenix when he probably could've done it online through PITT. He probably got paid to do it through Phoenix though..

  • Reminds me of Louis Lipps. Lipps will never get the credit he deserves.

  • Well they screwed up when they selected Matt Leinhart. Then for some reason was enamored with Kevin Kolb. When you miss on a QB drafted so highly like Leinhart, it has a negative effect on your franchise for almost a decade. You may allow him to sit a year or 2, depending on your starters, then you have to give him 2-3 years to prove himself, and now it is 5 years later, and in that year's draft or the next, there may not be any QB worth it at that spot. QB is pretty much the on position if you are going to take in the top 12 of a draft, you can't miss. Even in the 1st round. Ask Cleveland.

  • The cards lack of success has much more to do with a ton of missing puzzle pieces than just rhe lack os a qb.

They have not managed their money very well at all. Fitz is awesome but no top franchise (steelers, pats, packers, giants) is going to give that kind of money to a wr. The fitz deal put a big damper on resigning Dansby, Rolle, Smith, Wells, Boldin, Breaston, etc.

Steel: Of course you're correct. Larry doesn't play defense and he's not on the OLine. My point is simply about The Fitz. Outside of the Kurt Warner years, he's had no one to throw him the ball. Losing Boldin also hurt him drastically.
