    I would say very unlikely. If Chryst would leave, and I honestly do not think he is going anywhere, I would bet it would be a Pitt guy. Ausitin or Sunsieri.

    If it's Sunseri, I will NEVER attend another game.

    He has a very strong resume, been around some very good coaches.

  • This is normally a fun game to play, but we Pitt fans have been living through this so much it has actually become irritating. However, I will play the game since there is a possibility of this becoming a reality again. Also, for the record, I like PC and I hope like heck he stays.

    If he were to leave, I would want Austin. I have been intrigued by him, and suspect at some point in the not too distant future he will get a crack at being a HC somewhere anyway. Aside from that I don't really have many other choices I can think of.

    I honestly believe and hope this is all for nothing anyway. I really believe PC will stay.

    Mo town, I think Austin would be a great coach, but I think Sunsieri would be far more loyal to Pitt. From what I have been told, by some people in the know that Austin turned Pitt down three times as an assistant. Once as a GA, he chose PSU over Pitt, when he left Wake Forest chose Syracuse over Pitt, and then chose Michigan over Pitt. If he wins big, he would be far more likely to choose a very high profile job over Pitt.

    Again I do not believe Chryst is going anywhere, so I don't think it will even be an issue.

    Thanks for that info, I never knew that, but it is interesting. A few things about that, maybe he didn't want to become an assistant at Pitt because we haven't been good of a program for a while. I'm not sure of the time frames, but most likely Michigan and PSU would have been better programs than Pitt at that time.

    I agree with you that this will all be for nothing. If it were to actually happen, Pitt would almost HAVE to hire an alumni or someone who truly wants to stay at Pitt. We can only rotate coaches year after year so many times before nobody takes us serious. We were nearly approaching that this season.

    1.) Fire Steve immediately (3 days after PC leaves)
    2.) Name Donna Sanft interim AD (same day you fire SP)
    3.) Welcome back old doners and fans (same day you fire SP)
    4.) Bring back DW as an interim coach for 2013 (done on 12/31/12 after buffalo last game)
    5.) Wish Nordy well and begin his retirement (done by 4/1/13)
    6.) Hire Nordy's replacement (done by 6/30/13)
    7.) Hire new AD (done by 7/31/13)
    8.) Hire new HC (done by 12/15/13)

    You let Steve hire his 4th coach, knowing that Steve will be gone within the next 6-8 months when Nordy retires?

    Why go through the process of letting a lame duck AD hire a coach who will not be the choice of Pitt's long term AD and thus will be on a short leash? Fill both roles with temps and then have the long term solution at the end of next year.

    One more time Johnny. steve did not hire PC. He was pulled off the job after screwing up the previous two coaching hires.

    It's no wonder Paul stuck around. He's not steve's type of coach. Get rid of the bum.
