  • So what do you think of the potential Hanrahan for Capuano trade rumors?

    I like the Russell Martin pick-up, but so far this off season seems to be more of one mans trash is our treasure type stuff.

  • Well...if you subscribe to the WAR value placement, it's about the best you can do for Hanny. Everybody, myself included, would like to see a bat or a high prospect come back, but it most likely won't happen.

    Hanny's speed is down, his k's are down, his WHiP is up and his conditioning is lacking. He's still a top 5-7 closer, but I think he's in the twilight of his closing career.

    The Buccos really have two options with him...trade him now for a Capuano-type or hold him until July and hope he performs well. It's a tough decision. Twist my arm, you make the trade now.

    I agree, while it is great to think just maybe the Buc's can get to the playoffs but we all knew it would happen. The Pirates have a horrible history of not moving guys when their value is at its peak and that was another example of it.

    I agree completely, but just think how much everyone would have freaked out if they had traded Hanrahan. They did the same thing with Maholm. There was a huge debate about trading him, they didnt, and then got nothing for him after the season was over.

  • Tampa bay has an eye on winning now and in the future. The pirates need to do the same.
