Honestly I anticipate every kid but McClain to commit within the next 48 hours.

why do you think that? thatd be f*ckin awesome btw
Because hytche, moody, and officer all were waiting to commit on their visit. I thought kemp would wait but he is a tweeting fool. McClain will take his visit ti uk next week I imagine.
have they actually said or hinted at this or did you find out through sources
I don't have any "sources", just things I have read on here or other sites.
BOLD prediction .. 48 hours! Nice. I think this board would explode if that happened.
SO here's what i got .. CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG, prrrrease:
LIKELY COMMITS .. possibly within 48 hours
RB - Kemp
DB - Hytchye
OL - Officer
DL - Moody
LIKELY .. BUT Waiting till Army All-American game??
WR - Webb (waiting for Boyd?)
WR - Boyd
WR - Foster
No opinions yet .. 50/50??:
OL - Jones-Smith
DL - Gibbs
DL - Juco???
LB - Harris
DB - McClain
I think that is good but I would say jones-smith is 75 percent and McClain is 40/60
Nice. I haven't been this optimistic since 2007 .. of course .. then we decided to go coaching crazy. Cross your fingers gentlemen.
thatd be fantastic. hytchye and kemp are big time. moody could play as early as rs fr, officer is a developmental guy with good upside.
They gave out a few more and at one point were at 84. But then Steve Williams being dismissed and Frimpong and Ryles leaving took them back down to 81. So if there are 15 seniors leaving, that would still only give us 19 spots before more transfers happen. I think that there was a RS Junior lineman that was honored on senior day though. If he leaves, then we're at 20 open spots now.

The QB situation going into next season is completely up in the air, and should be fun to follow. Personally I think Voytik becomes our starter next year. I love Chapman and his athleticism, but his rawness is pretty apparent, so with our surplus of QB's I'd expect him to redshirt. With Voytik, I love his quick release, rocket arm, and overall athleticism. From the little I saw of him, he seemed like a good "decision maker", and a year of development under Chryst will only make him better. Again, I love Chapman's speed, but some people forget that Voytik is pretty damn fast too. 4.59 40 time, under a tenth of a second behind Chapman. In regards to Savage, the general consensus seems to be that he gets the nod, but I'm not completely sold. His rocket arm is so so so ridiculous, and as the senior of the group he probably gets first team reps in the spring, but sitting out 2 years is hard to look past IMO. Regardless, Pitt has a good problem on their hands, and the future at QB is looking bright. H2P
Is being a starter then sitting out two years worse than zero having any college snaps at all?
We already know that Chryst will start a one year QB. Wilson was a decent QB at NC State but blew up with Chryst. I don't know if Savage will but I do think he'll end up starting.
However, I am not as over the top optimistic as some PITT fans are about the 2013 QB situation. Basically ALL the QBs are either untested or, as you say, sat out two years. It is no lock that we'll see better overall QB play than we had this season.
I think we'll see more plays made BY THE QB next year and a more explosive offense due to the fact that the QB will take more chances and some of those will pay off. However I also think we'll see more negative plays in terms of picks as well (although there were plenty of negative plays this year but people dont count bad sacks or not seeing open receivers). So the question is, will he positive in more plays outweigh more picks? SHould be interesting.
A "Real PITT MAN"............get off my porch!
o-lineman has to be our number 1 priority.
yes, i want foster and boyd because they can be program changers and give us that difference maker type of talent, but
our o-line depth and talent badly needs a upgrade. if we do not bring in at least 2 more o-lineman in this class, i will be very disapointed.
we also need at least one DT in this class.
This is not an attempt to derail the topic, but this is one of the main reasons that there is a new HC at NCSU. Tom O'Brien ran Wilson off in a very public way, and the fact that he had so much success at Wisky kept that wound open.
Let's further derail the topic by pointing out that ^THIS^ is all that needs to be said about Tino and the QB position (although i could easily add to the list of negatives). Chryst did a fantastic job of accentuating the positives. In the future, we NEED someone who can win us games in the 4th quarter or 6-6 is the best we can be. Football is more about offense and the QB than ever before .. a freshman QB just won the Heisman and there are rookie QBs in the NFL looking like MVPs.
Back to recruiting .. only 24 more hours and we'll be receiving commitments! Yes! Walt for prez!
i hope so. the way these visitors interest levels were hyped up i almost feel cheated that nobody has committed yet today
I think Voytik and Chapman are competing for the QB spot after Savage leaves. From everything I've read about Savage being very accurate and the best QB in camp. Voytik would have to be really impressive in camp. Chapman will redshirt.
If Foster and Boyd commit they both might see significant playing time in year 1. I doubt they want a 1st year QB too. This will be a real young offense with Shell at RB.
