Get outta here with that.
Look - in one-game bowl matchups, those things can happen, sure. Notice two of the wins were over Vandy and Kentucky. Awesome.
Bowl games are all exhibitions where nothing's on the line. Unless you're the underdog from the smaller conference with a chip on your shoulder. We tasted that with Utah in '08. But when a championship is on the line, you've seen what happens.
Seriously ... you lose credibility when you even talk about Big East-SEC comparisons unless its March Madness time. Isn't your conference the reason that Northern Illinois is in a BCS game? Be better than this, CrazyPaco.
I stayed out of the last couple pages but felt this was a good spot to jump in. Maybe Foster wants to turn his Camry into a Corvette? He grew up here and has reportedly talked with the other top prospects in the WPIAL about turning the Pitt football program around. Nothing wrong with staying home. Russell Shell was a top recruit to at his position but wants to turn this program around.
And if I were Pitt fans, with all the "advantages" of staying close to home, alleged top-notch academics and the ability to get you to the NFL, what momma wants ... I'd wonder why in the hell it's taken this kid so long to make a decision.
"He just wants to make sure."
The arrogance of supposing he will only play at championships at Alabama is hilarious. I guess Larry Fitzgerald was a loser too.
As much as you can't imagine a player wanting to go Pitt over Alabama, I can't imagine living in Alabama compared, to, well, almost anywhere that I've chosen to live in my life. So, to each their own.
Don't worry, the Big East won't exist any more after this year so it won't be in your nightmares anymore.
Just go to bed knowing that the SEC will forever have a losing record against the Big East.
Bro we should've beat Notre Dame... Yes we lost with some bad calls that brought them back but when Pitt comes to play they have a decent defense. Not sure how Ole Miss's run defense is but Pittsburgh has the backs to test it.
Lloyd - with all sincerity, if that's his thinking, there's certainly nothing wrong with that, and both programs would be better off with that decision.
The only problem with that is this: Pitt will always get some good players. PA is a great state for HS football. But they'll never stockpile the difference-makers up front on both sides of the ball. They're not up there. Thus, taking the step to the elite of college football - and doing it consistently, and staying there - is next to impossible there.
Educate me - what is the WPIAL?
How many first round draft picks has pitt had in the past five yrs? How many players have they had drafted at all in the past five yrs? If its about geting into the nfl theres no comparison. Id choose bama.
Yeah I hate mild winters, beautiful women, low tax rates, and beaches nearby. It's horrible here!! Stay away ;)
it's looking like it Pitt won't have a conference to join.
We're not talking about him not getting to play for championships at other places. We're talking about him never having the opportunity to do that if he chooses Pitt. But, that has to be a priority for him. Alabama is not for everybody.
Look, I'm not going to slam what it's like to live in Pittsburgh. Truth is, I don't know. I've visited the Philly area for a short time. Liked the city, wouldn't want to live there. I'll take Gulf Shores and Orange Beach over the Monongahela any day, though. You'd actually like the metro-Birmingham area.
Hilarious, is Florida going to let FSU join the SEC or something?
Bammers: us Pitt fans know our place. We have one strange positives that you wouldn't expect from a 20 year stretch of complete mediocrity though. Lots of reasons for a kid's choice so who knows what happens.
I do have a personal knock on SEC schools not coming north. But who gives a crap anyway. If the SeC wins the nat'l championship every year, why change?
Frankly, we'll support you guys 100% getting Foster if you promise to hate on PSU every chance possible. Eff those peders.
Yeah, I actually have been to metro Birmingham and have friends there that are faculty at UAB. No thanks.
Never have a chance to play for a championship at Pitt huh? Yeah, we've never won any championships here. Thanks Nostradamus.

Why is impossible here? The WPIAL produces which is our high school football league has helped OSU and PSU win championships in the past. Penn State is a mess. WVU plays in the South. A great opportunity to take over recruiting in the area has opened up for Pittsburgh. Plus when Miami left recruiting Florida slowed down. That will open up again now that we play there again!!! Not USF.
I also think people underestimate what it means to be using the same facilities as the Steelers. You're running into guys in the NFL. Coaches and Scouts are there. These guys talk in the gym. I think Wannstadt had the Steelers talk to his players.
There was a time nobody could imagine Pitt basketball ever being a top team but other than last year they are always in the Tourney.
Just stop this thread. You guys are making us look like lunatics.
C'mon, man. You haven't won a national championship in 36 years, and prior to that it was the FDR administration. I mean, Colorado has won one since then. So has BYU and Clemson.
So, we're due.
You make it sound like it is out the realm of possibility, when it has been done here before. Heck, WVU would have been playing for one if we didn't knock them out of the title game in 2007 and that program has no intangibles over Pitt. If it can be one at Pitt 36 years ago, or WVU, 50 miles south with a worse recruiting backyard, can come close, well then, you'd have to be pretty freakin' arrogant to think it could be done again at Pitt. But then, that's what seems to come from people listening to exclusively from their own media patting themselves on their back constantly. Pitt's problem for 36 years has been coaching instability caused by exceedingly poor personnel decisions. Just remember the team you are playing in Miami this year took 3 overtimes to win against Pitt, at home.

Look no one is disrespecting Pitt. Bama is by far the better college football program and regardless of how defensive you guys get about it, you know it's true. Is anyone saying that RF would be crazy to go to Pitt, No. Do I think he comes to Bama, No but stop acting like we don't have a shot. He might not come to Bama but you still should be very afraid because their are plenty of reasons for him to. Oh and for you guys that think RF doesn't care about college football because of pro football then you are smoking crack. That is all.
Gotcha, didn't know what the WPIAL was. Look, as I said, you'll always be able to land some good players. Always have. But see my earlier about the animals up front? They're not up north. They're down here.
And as for your stadium, that's overrated. I'm sure the facility is nice - has to be. But it's a shoebox compared to the ones down here. Hell, even Ole Miss's stadium is as big as Heinz, and it's 100 years old.

Touche, brother! Best of luck on this one! In truth, the kid can't really make a bad decision.
Wow this thread is insane/funny. Bama is good.
Oh by the way... That Camry has some high octane gas!
Pitt's been bad for decades and it hasn't hampered NFL "development".
Young Robert can develop just fine at Pitt. There are many positives for Bama over Pitt, but NFL development isn't one of them. Especially for a WR. Although, Julio Jones looks to be a very nice player.
I'll leave all the other crap in this thread alone. It's my only beef in this thread.
Yeah but our basketball team is...LOL
Having read some this bantering one thing I have noticed - Bama folks are classy when they've earned the right to be snobby and yet WVU folks (we're used to them) are snobby when they've earned nothing but road kill. Beat ND
