Do the Paterno's really think the world is this stupid? Joe knew and did nothing. He got nailed and is known to be the fraud that he always was, period!
The Paterno report offers the result it was commissioned to get. Gregg Doyel says in reality it changes nothing about Joe Paterno's guilt in the 'Jerry Sandusky reign of terror.'
THE PATERNO FAMILY has offered its rebuttal, all legal-looking and footnoted and serious. It identifies some flaws in the investigation commissioned by Penn State and carried out by Louis Freeh, and it attempts to invent some others. There are no new facts here, only new arguments. The result is uneven and unpersuasive.
The Paterno-family report should be read and considered, but also taken for what it is: a document with an agenda. And the agenda was to clear Joe Paterno's name.
Don't know what media members you are following but I'm already seeing guys like Stepehen A Smith and Skip Bayless- who fell for the Freeh Report hook line and sinker- are starting to backtrack and say that PSU's penaties were too harsh and that they should be given modified sanctions. Jay Paterno has done an excellent job making guys like Golic and Cowherd look like bafoons.
Do people expect the Paternos to actually report something if it was found? There could not be a hint of bias from the Paterno family?
PS Steven A Smith said he respects Jay Paterno for coming on there but he holds firm to his position....

The Philly.com article linked above breaks it down very simply. The Paterno Report is crap and whiffs on very foundational points.
Just wait until Spanier, Curly and Shultz talk.
The Paterno Family did not write the Paterno Report- 4 individual wrote the report. And, before you say "yes, but they were paid for by the Paterno's" I think it is highly unlikely that any of these guys would have risked their professional reputations by making up a report that claims Joe Paterno was not part of a coverup to conceal sex crimes by Sandusky. Also, it's not like these guys needed the money that they received from the Paterno's. I encourage you, and all other non-PSU fans to read John Clemente's part of the report.
Jay did not make the ESPN hosts look like fools. You obviously didn't watch the interviews. And Steven A is certainly not changing his view - I'm watching it right now.
Jay did EAT Mike and Mike and Colin. That much is true.
Where did I say Jay made the ESPN hosts look like fools? I said he made guys like Golic and Cowherd look like fools. Either way, Stephen Smith stated that he would be ok with modified sanctions for PSU which is a long way from where he was back in July. He may stick to his "Joe should have done more" rhetoric but "should have done more" does not equal conspiracy to conceal a crime.
Here is another article.
"Some Paterno loyalists, and some Penn State fans bitter at the NCAA sanctions and who believe it is the Nittany Lions' birthright to go 10-2, will no doubt do just that. It's their choice. This report will feed off that sentiment.
In the end, though, the "Critique" did little to nothing to suggest Paterno didn't know in 1998. The report brought to light no new facts. So, barring further evidence being uncovered during the criminal cases expected later this year, the Freeh conclusion remains the far most likely scenario. "
From Yahoo! Sports: The Paterno family failed to cast doubt on the most important question of the Freeh report: What did Joe Paterno know in 1998?
And, what proof does this guy have that Joe knew of the 1998 incident? Claiming "he had to have known" isn't proof that he knew.
Read Dejan Kovacevic's Trib column today on it. He nailed it.
There were a number of emails that FREEH Dug up that proved Joe knew for most rational thinking human beings. Remember, this isnt a court of law where the proof has to beyond a reasonable doubt (Which most reasonable human beings would still say Joe Knew), this is the court of public opinion where if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck its probably a duck.
Heres a question for the NIts. ITs been said that Joe was so well connected and informed about anything that went on related to the program that if someone dropped a rock Joe would know about it before it hit the ground. Now suddenly when his DC is accused of fondling boys, hes kept out of the loop. How do you rationalize that away?
A "Real PITT MAN"............get off my porch!
What did Kovacevic nail? He admits that he does not know what Joe Paterrno knew and when he knew it. The Freeh report gave no evidence to these claims that Paterno knew about the 1998 incident. Also, the John Clemente reports does a very good job of clearing up the misconception that Paterno tried to conceal the infromation MM gave him. IHis report made it clear that Curley reported the 2001 incident to the Second Mile chairmen of the board. One would think the Second Mile should have been the ones to take this information to the police. Sandusky was not on PSU's staff in 2001 and TSM was an organization that had the training and expertise to deal with situations like this(unlike football coaches). So, if Curley reported the MM information to TSM, then how is that a conspiracy to hide the information?
You are a sad, pathetic individual. I really pity you.
Perhaps you should read this. Most rational people would conclude JokePa knew about 1998.
My assessment of the Paterno tribe.
Joe = Dead
Sue = Delusional
Jay = Nepotism Personified
Scott = Disgusting Fat Slob
They're trying to protect their fortune at all cost.... nothing has changed. They were taught well.
Good stuff. You really are on a roll lately!
Likewise do you think Louis Freeh would risk his reputation?
You are a jack off and a hypocrite
Please dont insult all the jackoffs in the world.........................
Heres some more rational thinking from the media.
The statement from Freeh himself is pretty darn compelling as well
four days later and the crickets are still chirping...
Don't give a rat's a** what you think of me. You are just a hater with an unhealthy hatred for PSU.
There is a laugh. The statement from Freeh. What is the guy suppose to say? Yeah, I am imcompetent, I screwed up, etc.
Explain how he screwed up? So let me get this straight. well over 80% of the public and media agrees with Freehs conclusions. The only folks who take a view 180 degrees in opposition to the Freeh Report are CUlt members like yourself.
Do you not see how you are totally lacking in self awareness and perspective? My Gosh, there was a nitwit on BWI yesterday claiming that Sandusky couldnt have raped the kid because hes 6'3 and the kid was around 5'! Then theres the nitwits that feel sympathy for the vicitms of the Catholic priests and look at the church with disdiain (Which I agree with) for the coverup and fail to see the parallels to what happened in Crappy valley>
Seriously you folks are beyond being disgusting and need help. I would never hire anyone form UPS who is as out of touch as a cult member like yourself.
Specifically there was a post on BWI that said effectively mcquerry could not have seen sandusky sodomizing a boy because sandy is over 6 feet tall and a 12 year child would only be 5 foot at most, and there's no way their genitals would align to allow sexual intercourse from behind. Swear to god. I couldn't make this cultist dribble up.
Owt posted this response on another site which is effing hilarious.
So if this guy came home and saw 5 naked men in his bedroom with his wife, and his wife was hiding in the corner but her face looked like a glazed donut, he can argue that she should use napkins when she is eating Krispy Kremes?
THat is the Penn State way folks. Your faith can allow you to justify anything.

New Penn State team slogan:
"If the schwanz don't fit, you must acquit."
Self-Loathing Yinzerism (aka SLY) is a very real phenomenon that afflicts approximately one in every three Western Pennsylvanians. Please help bring a stop to the whining, self-pity and self-doubt about all things Pittsburgh.

He screwed up for several reasons)if you read the Paterno Report then you would know). For starters, he failed to interview a lot of the key people in this whole affair plus he came to several conclusions that were not based on facts but simple conjecture. And, please, spare me with your grandstanding. You, and your fellow cult Pitt fans, don't give a damn about Sandusky's victims. All you care about is PSU getting punished whether the punishment is fair or not or whether is based on facts.
The question of the comprehensiveness of the Freeh report would be a good one were it not for the fact that it found a smoking gun within its limited scope. This might be good work on Freeh's part, or it might be good luck, or whatever. But, it remains that there is an email dialogue that goes
(1) Administrators agree to turn Sandusky in;
(2) One administrator talks to "coach;"
(3) That administrator, citing said conversation with "coach," allofasudden changes his mind;
(4) Other administrators follow suit.
Formally, one would think it will boil down to what Curley is willing to say under oath, which would be the biggest of a set of testimonies that put some more window dressing on the scenario sketched above. But more casually, that's really all you need---it's the freshman-level definition of a causal effect where "conversation with coach" is the treatment.
