If Anderson comes in and brings a spread offense I could see a couple of guys bolting and you have to think PITT will be on the short list.
Not only that, but the ENTIRE staff is gone. So defensive guys may be candidates too.
The think the only issue might be finding spots for any potential transfers since those players would count toward the 85 limit despite having to sit. I hope at least one O-lineman comes here.
If they pay their own way in yr 1, then they don't count. If we sign up to the limit then get word of a transfer, we can always make room during spring ball.
No more transfers Ghost....Let the staff develop their own players......Pitt is going to have the numbers after this recruiting class....Let's start developing them
I predict zero transfers. Nothing against them .. but this staff hasn't shown interest in transfers .. not even when PSU was imploding.
That's not totally true either. Manessah Garner is a transfer and he will play. Dontez Ford is transferring and there is interest. The QB from Maryland O'Brien was considering Pitt before he chose Wisconsin and it is when Chryst was the coach at Pitt.
Bob are there any guys that you know of that could graduate and still have eligibility to transfer to Pitt to play under Chryst again? I would think if there were some offensive linemen or defensive players that Chryst is familiar with that he would welcome them without any issues but I think they would most likely need to fill a position of need (WR comes to mind, especially if they strike out with Foster and Boyd **Crosses fingers**) or guys that would have to sit out a year that he really liked when recruiting at Wisconsin in the first place.
I'm not completely sold on the fact they move to a spread offense, at least not in his first couple of years, but most coaches go with what they know so I would think eventually it becomes a spread team. Who knows, maybe Barry offered him the job but wanted to make sure the offensive identity stayed the same at Wiscy so he made that clear to Andersen.
Savage is also a transfer and there rumors of a pair of other potential transfers that I'm not naming now because may have got that info from another premium site.
Remember Chryst also took Wilson at Wisky
I didn't think Chryst brought Savage here. Did he?
No but he brought savagely bad clock management.
How is it that you get away with negativity but i don't!?? haha =)
Savage didn't enroll until late this summer.
It doesn't make sense that he would have wanted to play under TG when it's been my understanding he's wanted to play in a pro-style offense.
I feel shame.
