You have no favorite boards.
We need to miss more foul shots this year. That's key.
And oh by the way .. that "flop" by Tray? it wasn't a flop. And that "block" you just saw? That WAS a flop by Michigan.
Refs are keeping Michigan in the game. No matter what happens, I am impressed with Pitt. As someone mentioned, if our 7 footer improves a great deal during the season (he definitely needs to), we will be a scary team late in the year. This is one of the best ball moving teams I remember seeing at Pitt.
Yeah... I don't understand dakich point there. If anything... it was a no-call and Ziegler probably scores any ways.
Exactly. The kid flopped or it was a no-call. There was no charge. And when Tray got bumped it was obvious he was off-balance. How effing stupid do you have to be to not see that it was NOT a flop? I'm retiring for a few minutes. DVR .. make me proud!
Be back later yinz all.
In tired of hearing dakich blow Michigan
A "Real PITT MAN"............get off my porch!
They are just not playing well in the second half. It's not like they haven't had open looks.
Turnovers and missed shots aren't a good recipe against a good team.
wait till next year when we get the new recruits in..oh wait, that was this year.
They are starting to look like last year's team now. A lot of standing around on offense. No inside game. And Adams... yeah... he'd be making a mistake going to the NBA after 1 year. He is no where near ready.
I've only caught a couple games so far but Adam's has looked bad on both ends of the court in both of them
Pitts in trouble but we need to remember this is the #5 team in the country. Go Pitt
still in the game, which is amazing considering the horrible shooting percentage in the 2nd half
Im no hoops expert but I see Pitt no better than Lou, Gtown, Cuse, ND or UCONN this yr. Maybe 6th best BE team this yr if they get lucky. Just not enough talent to compete with the bigs.
That wasn't a foul

Robinson is no slouch and can compete with anyone on Michigan's team. They are a team that cannot afford lapses for entire halves from Zanna, Moore and Woodall. I am more convinced than every they are a year away from a serious contender.
2 horrible calls at the end. The one dude stepped on the line and wasnt called. JJ Moore was thrown down by a thug.
Even though they lost I'm really encouraged by this team. Just awful calls and a bad spell on offense did them in tonight but this team has talent and heart
Jrob is the truth. He's already a very good ph and will be great. Any team with a great pg has a chance to be awfully good
Steve Adams is clearly not ready for prime time but he will improve a the year goes on. I'm thinking hell be around for three years. Kid is raw
Love the way zanna has improved.
Good to see Patterson break out
Again. Tough to lose but very encouraging for this year and beyond.
They played the #4 team down to the wire. The refs weren't going to let Pitt win this game. Not a big deal in the grand scheme, but a good learning experience early in the year.

The problem is... after all the minutes played by Patterson and Woodall - you expect a little more consistency from them. These guys should be consistent 12-16ppg scorers and they're not. Moore is basically heading in the same direction. As is Zanna. You have to play consistent for 2 halves to beat top-10 teams and advance far in the NCAA's. These guys stand around way too much looking for someone else to score. That someone else is soon to be Robinson.
Overall, a very good showing against a top 10 team. Whether Michigan is truly a top 5 team, I'm not sure. It didn't look that way tonight but Pitt probably had a lot to do with that.
The big thing you get from these early tournaments that you don't get when you play cupcakes is being able to see what the team really needs to work on to become one of the best teams in the country. First thing that comes to mind for me is that Pitt really needs to find a consistent scorer who can shoot the team out of slumps. When Michigan went to the 1-3-1, the offense went stagnant and nobody was able to get anything to fall. My hope is that Patterson eventually finds the touch he had in March but that's no given. I also hope to see Robinson driving to the hoop more often to open up the shots on the outside to try to beat the zone. Adams doesn't have any confidence at all right now. They need to use 1 or 2 of their cupcake games to try and get him the ball as much as possible so he can work on his post offense so that he picks up some confidence by the time January rolls around.
The major thing that scares me about this team is their lack of rebounding instinct. They were out-rebounded tonight 32-19 by a team that plays with a much smaller lineup. They just don't seem to have the players that have a burning desire to hit the glass like they used to. It's that rebounding instinct that made Nasir Robinson such an important player to this team the last few years. They need to have someone pick up where he left off to really make much of a splash in conference play.
Overall, very impressive performance. Definitely should be ranked next week. Hopefully they work out some of the kinks for Delaware on Friday. Hail to Pitt!
