1994 nitters complain

  • and say they were ripped off in 1994 from Nebraska. Here are some facts that show they really weren't ripped off in any way. Nebraska had a much better resume and deserved to be the #1 team.

Nitters can talk about offense all they want. If it were just up to offense, than David Klingler and Andre Ware's teams should be respected more.

  • Honestly. Don't they have bigger and more important things to worry about? While the criminal case is about Sandusky, the impending civil cases will be about Penn State and the Second Mile and how they allowed this to continue even when evidence was presented that there were issues with the Ticklemonster.

  • One moment where being in the B1G certainly screwed us.

Even if we weren't the best team in the nation, we certainly had earned the right to play in the game to decide it all.

Some of those facts we're pretty useless, like the one about 66 letters for PSU and 77 for Nebraska. Who cares? Why the hell would that matter?

‏@Cordale10 Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS

  • Why are they complaining. Ped State hosed Nebraska in 1982 in a game at Beaver Stadium where at least two of the passes on the game winning drive drive were clearly out of bounds. If Nebraska wins that game, they are National Champions, not Ped State.

  • While we will argue that year this website is from Nebraska and not from PSU

Texas Lion I think you nailed it PSU deserved at least a chance to play Nebraska, but because of the Rose Bowl tie in, they could not play the game.

What many people forget was Alabama was almost unbeaten as well in 1994, they lost by one point to Florida in the SEC Championship game.

Had Alabama been undefeated then they would have been in the Sugar Bowl, Nebraska in the Orange and PSU in the Rose.

Not to get in an argument about what happened 18 years ago, my feeling is when great offense plays great offense, best defense wins, and Nebraska had the far better defense. Colorado was also a one loss team, and that loss was to Nebraska, and the game was very much dominated by Nebraska. If I remember correctly Colorado had the number 2 ranked offense in the country that year against a pretty potent schedule, and Nebraska totally dismantled them. Then the following year we all saw what Nebraska did to Florida in the bowl game.

I think without question PSU had a great team, but I think Nebraska was better. Just my opinion. Nobody truly knows, because they never played on the field.

PSU fans have used the excuse that some of their scores were only close because they played so many backups when Nebraska didn't.

Those are the type of fans people should ignore, because that is one of the most retarded excuses I've ever heard.

As Greg said, we'll never really know because they never played each other. A lot of people believe that was the best PSU team ever, and it's hard to argue because they never lost. Really sucks they didn't have a system in place at the time, something that will always leave a sour taste despite a tremendous season and team.
